When the By Work Point setting on the View menu is selected, the Design Workspace displays the design's work locations, grouped by path and by points and spans. The designation for each work location (P1, P2, P3,S1, S2, S3, etc.) matches its label in the GIS window. A work location that is used in more than one path is designated with same number in every instance.

Depending on the selected path, a work location with existing facilities will be displayed in the Design Workspace with those facilities shown as In-Service features. Any existing feature that appears in more than one design will be displayed with a warning icon to indicate a potential conflict. The icon will appear in subsequent designs (but not in the first design to use the feature).

Work locations with assigned facilities are indicated by a folder icon. Expanding the folder of the work location displays its assigned features. Expanding the folder of a feature displays any assigned units, materials, and custom costs (see Assigning Units Manually and Assigning Units Automatically).
